  • CUBABA, a solo-exhibit at the ArtCenter/South Florida, Miami Beach, FL, April - May 1998.

  • "Cubans in America", Florida Museum of Hispanic and Latin American Art group show, Coral Gables, FL, 1998.

  • Compartiendo con Bolivia, 1998, Opening exhibit for a year-long cultural program entitled  "Sucre - Plaza Mayor de la Cultura Iberoamericana". The exhibit  to coincide with a meeting of the federation of binational centers.  Then, Cortada's exhibit travels to Tarija for the International Festival de la Cultura "Abril en Tarija", and later to Potosí a/o Oruro for an exhibit in coordination  with the Partners of the Americas.

  • Compartiendo con Bolivia, 1997, During October 1997 XAVIER CORTADA opened two Arts America sponsored exhibits: one at Museo de Historia, Universidad Autónoma "Gabriel Rene Moreno," the Regional Museum of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and the other at the Museo Tambo Quirquincho, the municipal museum in La Paz, Bolivia, 1997. After his departure, the exhibit continued traveling through Bolivia, including the Binational Center in Cochabamba.

Xavier Cortada has exhibited his works in museums, galleries, and cultural venues around the world and has pioneered the use of the Internet in collaborative art-making. The Miami-based Cuban-American artist, attorney, and activist has worked collaboratively with diverse groups across the United States, Latin America, Europe and Africa to create pro-social community murals and participant-driven art projects.
