The Florida Museum of Hispanic and Latin American Art's "Cubans in America"  exhibit opening reception was Friday, January 2nd, 1997 from 6 to 10 p.m. with performances by Grupo Folklorico Chango Leye, Cuban dancer Sonia Calero, and choreographer Alberto Alonso.  

The museum is located a few yards south from the corner of Bird Road (SW 40th Street) and Aurora Street (one block west of Ponce de Leon Boulevard).
