Murals on Health

Xavier Cortada, has worked with hospitals, organizations, and diverse groups to create murals, art projects and exhibits addressing health concerns, see samples below.  These efforts serve as a therapeutic intervention, allowing  participants to express themselves, and as a vehicle to generate public awareness about issues of concern.

Other mural projects on health
:

The Love Mural, at UM Children's Cancer Clinic: About 150 children being treated for cancer, sickle cell anemia, and hemophilia participated in creating the "Love Mural" with Xavier Cortada.
Creation of the "Lifescape" mural (1999) and "Our Quilt" (2000) with patients from the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital Children's Cancer Clinic, Miami, FL.  These murals were created through the clinic's Arts in Medicine Program, and sponsored by the Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs Council.
Other health murals address the following issues:    HIV/AIDS, Disabilities, Substance Abuse, and Domestic Violence

Xavier Cortada has exhibited his paintings in museums and galleries across the United States, Latin America, Africa, and Europe, and has worked with diverse community groups to create pro-social art projects.
