miami youth museum exhibit

Click here for photo-documentation of the "ANIMALS AS ARCHITECTS" mural created with youth from Centro Campesino

Delegates to the National Conference of State Museum Associations were present at the Miami Youth Museum on February 21, 1997 to recognize youth who worked with Xavier Cortada in the creation of the "Animals as Architects" mural. The 28 foot long movable mural was commissioned by the Miami Youth Museum, co-sponsored by LISC South Dade and created with children from Centro Campesino Farm worker Center in Florida City, Florida. The mural complements an exhibit by the same name and will remain as part of the Museum’s permanent collection. The Miami Youth Museum is located at 3301 Coral Way, Miami, FL.
