Master-Peace
a collaborative effort of Miami-Dade Art in Public Places, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Division of Life Skills, and Regis House, Inc., a non-profit community-based center helping children and families

Miami artist Xavier Cortada will be working with ten high schools during the 1999-2000 academic year to create ten murals commemorating the millennium's past ten centuries.  The Internet-based project utilizes the artist's WebStudio to create collaborative murals exploring lessons humanity has learned during the last 1000 years.

During its inaugural year, Master-Peace presented twelve collaborative pro-social murals in Miami-Dade County Public Schools.  Artist Xavier Cortada facilitated the process through which art students in 3 high schools, 5 middle schools and 3 elementary schools explored issues like multiculturalism, respect, community and the environment.
